Howard Lindzon, a Canadian hedge fund manager, inspired a blog by Seth Godin about thinking big and acting small as a company. A very interesting perspective on today's economy, where mass media rewards thinking and acting big, which leads to the kind of debacle we are living right now. It triggers a reflection about startups as well, hiring loads of programmers before they have a business model and then fire half of them when pressured by VCs. This ties in with Seth's "Waiting for the last drip", where he preaches the slow, constant action of marketing, like Chinese torture, a suite of small actions, akin to rain drops, that at some point create a flood.
